Day 1: Singapore – Delhi

Check in at Changi Airport for your flight to Delhi. Our representative will meet you upon your arrival at Delhi airport. Transfer to hotel for overnight.


Day 2: Delhi – Leh (B/L/D)

After breakfast, proceed to airport for your spectacular mountain flight to Leh overlooking the Himalayas. On arrival in Leh, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to hotel for rest and overnight. As Leh is at 3,500m above sea level, we leave today as a free day for resting to acclimatize to this high altitude. We recommend that you drink plenty of water (at least 3 litres of water) and sleep early to better acclimatize your body for your onward journey. Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort or similar class.


Day 3: Leh (B/L/D)

A full day tour of Leh visiting the three famous gompas of Leh: Hemis, Thiksey and Shey. Shey is set up in the hill and the monastery has a statue of sitting Buddha of copper and gold. Thiksey provides a panoramic view of the green Indus valley. It houses beautiful tankas and there are 60 residents lamas. Hemis is the biggest monastery, containing statues and stupas decorated with precious stones. It houses the biggest tanka in existence which is exhibited only once in every 11 years. Evening is free to explore the Leh bazaar. Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort or similar class.


Day 4: Leh – Nubra (B/L/D)

Today after sufficient acclimatization, be prepared for a spectacular journey across the Khardungla Pass (5,602m), the highest motorable pass in the world, to the valley of Nubra in the far north by the Tibetan border. The view from the top of the pass is amazing. One can see all the way south over the Indus Valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of Zanskar range. Nubra was once a busy stop on the Caravan route used by ancient traders for silk, tea and spices. The valley is predominately Buddhist. En route we shall visit Diskit Monastery, a famous 14th century monastery believed to be the oldest and largest in the Nubra valley. Also enjoy a camel ride on the double-humped Bactrian camel through the sand dunes and scenic valleys in the late afternoon. Overnight in the small village of Hundar.


Day 5: Nubra (B/L/D)

Today is a full day of exploring the Nubra Valley. We shall drive to Panamic, where one can view the hot springs known for the therapeutic properties. This was a busy centre in old times, the last major settlement before the caravans plunged into the mountains of Karakoram into Central Asia. En route visit the 150-year old SamtanglingGompa at Sumur, a large complex with 7 temples and was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 1962. The prayer rooms that are open to the public houses an impressive collection of Thankas and excellently restored frescoes.


Day 6: Nubra – Leh (B/L)

After breakfast we shall drive back to Leh over Khardungla, savouring the spectacular scenery once again. On arrival check in hotel and rest of the day is free at your own leisure. Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort or similar class.


Day 7: Leh – Alchi Day Trip (B/L)

Today we will embark on a day trip driving through the picturesque landscape along the River Indus to the fabled Alchi Monastery, founded by RingchenZangpo and built in the 11th century. Within the monastery you will see beautiful Tibetan and Gandhara style murals of Ladakh as well as frescos and images of the Buddha. Thereafter, return to Leh for overnight. Overnight at Ladakh Sarai Resort or similar class.


Day 8: Leh – Delhi (B)

Depart by flight back to Delhi on a short spectacular mountain flight. On arrival, free time for shopping before proceeding to airport for flight back to Singapore.


Day 9: Delhi – Singapore
