Cancun is one of the most important tourist complexes in Mexico and the world. Its superb location, shaped like an island, its year-round mild climate, and its gorgeous, warm, sandy, white beaches washed by the Caribbean Sea is ideal for water sports. After a buffet-styled breakfast in the hotel, we will proceed to Chichen Itza archaeological site. One of the newly selected 7 Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza is one of Yucatan Peninsula’s most important Mayan cities. Chichen Itza underwent two periods of grandeur. The first was between the 6th and 9th centuries A.D., and the second, when the Toltecs moved from Mexico’s central highlands into the region in the 10th century and melded their culture with that of the Maya. This is why two distinct architecture styles stand side-by-side, one belonging to the classical Mayan period, and the other, developed jointly with the Toltecs, called Toltec/Maya. After lunch, we will return to Cancun.
After breakfast, today is free for leisure, it is time for you to enjoy at the beach.
