Mt. Paektu

North Korea may not be able to boast attractions as impressive as what other countries may offer; but, for those looking for an incomparable travel experience, this country will surely not disappoint. Unlike other tourist destination, it is a different world and has a different system. Whatever you may see or wherever you may go, you will have yourself thinking that you were taken back in time for the antiquated yet aesthetically beautiful places and activities in North Korea. The country pride itself with an archaic and proud culture, with pure and well-presented cities, and a warm-hearted and educated population.

Pyongyang, the capital and showcase city of the country will give you a very distinct perspective. The dancing activities and getting to meet the citizens will allow you to see North Korea in a different perspective. This is going to make you not just an ordinary tourist avid gaining enjoyment, but a more sensible and empathetic one. Visiting North Korea imparts a much-needed window into the world beyond it.

Tourists serve as a conduit through which North Koreans can get in touch with new people and new viewpoints; just like how and what the people wanted. You will find out that they are always inquisitive about people coming from different parts of the world. They might tend to ask several various questions about everything – from your way of living up to the most sensitive topic of politics. Nevertheless, they are very welcoming to tourists and will very much be happy seeing interested and curious people visit their country.

Tourism, then, acts as an important bridge for the isolated cultures, which know only a little appreciation about others. Paying North Korea a visit allows people from both sides of the boundary to communicate and consequently easing the tensions of cross-cultural differences by imparting empathy and respect through a person-to-person contact and friendship.

The DPRK has always been in the glare of publicity. Nevertheless, North Korea will definitely put a lot of things into perspective. It will teach us not only to appreciate but also to value the freedom we have back home – the choice of creating and driving our own lives.

When is the best time to visit North Korea?

Despite the strict entrance to the solitary land of North Korea, tourists may now visit all year-round. The best time to visit is in spring or autumn, that is from April to June and August to October. During this period days are relatively cool and dry.
